The Kid's "Smooth" Picks!!

Before I get to my picks, I need to make something clear about the 06-07 University of Kentucky Wildcats. Ramel "Smooth" Bradley is my favorite player on the team. Did you know he's from Brooklyn? At least, that's what I hear. He may play a little out of control sometimes, but he plays hard every minute of every game. If he played for another team, I would probably hate him because of his boistrous attitude, but he's a Wildcat. Now, this will probably jinx him or something, but I just wanted to give Smooth a little shout-out! Now, for the picks!
Saturday:

Colts +4 over Ravens: All year I have not believed
that the Ravens were a good team. I still don't. I don't care what
their record is, I don't care who plays QB for them, and I don't care if Ray
Lewis believes he is on a personal mission from God. I am predicting the
Colts will break the city of Baltimore's heart one more time. How?
By going deep. And I don't mean heading to a strip club, I mean throwing
the deep ball. That is the weakness of this Ravens team, but too often
their pass rush makes it difficult for teams to pull off. I have seen the
Bengals successfully attack the Ravens this way, and I think the Colts can do it
too. Also, while Ray Lewis may still garner the attention, Bart Scott is
the LB you need to keep an eye on. And seriously, how wrong can you be
taking Peyton Manning and Tony Dungy in the playoffs? (That was a
joke)

Saints -5 over Eagles: The Eagles are dropping like flies and they probably should've lost to the Giants, if the Giants had any sort of coaching, team unity, pride, etc. I refuse to buy into any sort of "Team of Destiny" bullshit, because the Saints do not need luck or magic. They are the better team, period. The Eagles "D"
is built for one thing, the blitz. If they try that against the Saints, it
could get ugly. Drew Brees has the weapons, and the Eagles have defenders
dropping like flies. Their only hope is a monster game from Brian
Westbrook (who Reggie Bush WISHES he could play like on a consistent basis), but
I don't think it will be enough.
Sunday:
Seahawks +8.5 over Bears: I just don't believe in the Bears. There has been so much talk about Rex Grossman and his crappy play, that I was a little surprised that no one was picking Seattle. The Bears' "D" is good, but the Seahawks have seen it before. True, they were beat down 37-6, but I just think they are going to be a little more ready. Much like the Ravens, I think the Bears can be beat through the air and although I doubt they will win, I think Matt Hasslebeck can do enough to keep it close.
Patriots +5 over Chargers: Believe me when I say that nothing would make me happier than to NOT have to hear/see/read point after point about how great Brady/Belichcick are and how Marty Schottenheimer cannot coach in the playoffs. That horse has been beaten, died, and made into dogfood (Dogfood which Dave's dog Juneapple ate in under 3 seconds!). But, these statements are true because of what has happened in the past. If I am putting my money on somebody, it is probably going to be the people with the reputation of winning in big games, and not the coach whose playoff history always involves dramatic comebacks with his team on the short end of the stick. If the Pats win, it will be because Marty got conservative. But, if Charger LB Shawne Merriman can get a few more steroid shots between now and Sunday, perhaps he will tear through the line and rip off Brady's head. Or maybe Brady will wear himself out bangin' too many hot chicks. Either way, it would be helpful for San Diego.
That's what I think. Come back Monday, after I go 4-0!!
