Tubby Watch Update!!! This is Chuck Hayes. If the NCAA allowed him to play eight years in college, we would not be having this conversation. Alas, despite the fact that UK and Chuck went together like beer and late night cheese sticks, he eventually had to leave. It has been all down hill for Tubby. No replacement on, or more importantly off, the court for Chuck. Exhibit A- Joakim Noah calls UK the "kitty-cats", tells Ramel Bradley he's "his daddy"(click on link above), and generally acts like a gigantic douche fucker. UK's reaction. Well, although I am not advocating a Gerald Henderson-esque cheap shot to his nose, ala the Duke v. UNC game, I.....screw it....I am advocating a Gerald Henderson-esqu cheap shot to his nose. This teams lacks heart, desire, toughness, and winnability! (That's not a word. I just made it up, but trust me, Chuck had it) I can think of a number of former UK players that would have planted Noah on his ass, Jamal Magliore for instance, but no one on this team. If something like that would have happened, and that player missed the SEC tournament which led to a UK loss, I would not have cared. They would have at least shown some heart and toughness, something sorely lacking all year. Tubby recognized he needs to recruit tougher players. Unfortunately for him, those tougher players may not be at UK.
Spoiler Alert! Tomorrow's Tubby Watch will feature a list of the coaches (yes, that's plural) who, according to sources, have already agreed to the UK job for next year! Apparently, we are going to pull some BYU moves and have multiple head coaches. Should be fun!
